Ingredients:

3 cups instant oats

3 cups warm milk (500ml)

8-10 seedless dates

1 tsp vanilla essence

1 tsp baking powder

2 tsp sesame oil

a little honey to drizzle

Method:

Soak the dates in 1/2 cup lukewarm milk for half an hour and blend into a paste.

Take instant oats and grind them to a fine powder.

Add vanilla essence, baking powder, sesame oil, date paste, and milk. Mix well and keep aside for 5-10 minutes. Mix again and you may add a little more milk to get a pancake-like consistency.

Heat a flat pan. You may or may not apply oil, the pancakes come out well even if the oil is not applied. Add 2 ladles of oats batter and spread fast to get a round shape and pancake-like thickness. Keep the flame on mid-high. Flip the pancake after a few seconds till golden brown and cook on the other side too.

Cook the remaining pancakes in the same way. (Tip - Take a soft cloth dipped in water and apply it to the entire pan before pouring the batter for the next pancake. The batter will be easier to spread this way otherwise it will be hard to spread on a hot pan) Drizzle honey and chopped dates and serve.

Note - you may replace dairy milk with oat milk and skip honey to make oats vegan pancakes.
