Fox nuts or lotus seeds (makhana in Hindi) are rich in nutrients like calcium, protein, and fiber. There are a lot of sweet and savory recipes that are made from fox nuts. This is a simple, savory, healthy, and crunchy snack and goes well with tea/coffee.
Ingredients -
200 gm Fox Nuts
1/2 small cup of peanuts
15-20 curry leaves
1 tbsp raisins
1/2 tsp chaat masala
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
1/2 tsp garam masala powder
1/2 tsp cumin powder
salt to taste
1 tbsp ghee
Method -
Roast fox nuts in 1/2 tbsp ghee on a medium flame till crispy and keep it aside. Take the remaining ghee in a slightly deep dish. On a medium flame, add peanuts, and curry leaves, and roast for a while. Add raisins, and the rest of the spices, and stir it for a few seconds. Add fox nuts, mix everything well, and switch off the flame. Your super healthy crunchy snack is ready. You can also store it in an air-tight glass container, though it's better to consume it in a max couple of days' time otherwise these fox nuts tend to become soft and chewy.
