Salsa is a famous Mexican sauce that is a great condiment with any starter or main dish. It's yummy, easy to prepare, and healthy too.
Ingredients:
4 tomatoes
1 onion
1/2 cup coriander leaves
1 green chili
1/2 tsp cumin powder
salt to taste
garlic (optional)
Method:
You can use raw or roasted tomatoes. Roasted tomatoes give a smoky flavor to the salsa. Dry roast the tomatoes 2 at a time on the gas burner with the help of the tongs until the tomato skin turns a little black. Flip and roast on all sides till it remains firm. Do not overdo as the tomatoes become start to leave the water and are difficult to hold with the tongs. Let the tomatoes cool a little.
Roughly chop the tomatoes, onion, chili, and coriander leaves. Add salt, and cumin powder, and grind in the mixer without water. Grind more for a smooth texture and less for a chunky texture.
Enjoy the fresh salsa. You may refrigerate it and use it later.
